What is Marvel Champions: The Card Game?
Marvel Champions is a living card game where up to 4 heroes team up to lay the smackdown on (or get smacked down by) some of the nastiest baddies Marvel has to offer. Hero decks are pre-constructed before playing, but unlike Magic or Pokemon there are no booster packs! You can just get a core set and whatever heroes you want without having to hope to randomly get the cards you want for your deck. Each villain has their own setup instructions to make their deck, as well, which can be greatly modified for variability, theme, and difficulty to match whatever your wants are for the game. Champions is crazy thematic and really makes you feel like you’re a part of an awesome fight in a comic or movie!
How to Start Playing
For a new player wanting to try the game, just come on out, find our tables, say hi, and someone there will be able to loan you an extra deck for the night and teach you the basics. If you reach out to me on the TT/CCC discord early enough (tag Shagtastic1#9841), you can let me know your favorite hero(es), and I’ll be sure to have a deck or 2 made for them that you can try. For experienced players, I recommend to just bring a deck in each aspect, and come on out and join the fun!
From the Sinister 6 teaming up and attacking us from every which way to Ultron turning our cards into enemy drones to Thanos snapping away half your deck, Monday nights are always a blast at CCC as we bring our decks together to try and take on whatever challenges the night may bring.
