Event Room Terms and Conditions

Room Specific

Large Event Room:

The large event room may be booked in two-hour blocks.
- The cost for the initial two-hour reservation is $150
- Additional hours may be purchased for $65.
- Reservations can not exceed 6 hours.
  - Anything over 6 hours requires a new reservation.
The maximum occupancy of the large event room is 40 persons.

Small Event Rooms:

Small event rooms may be booked in two-hour blocks.
- The cost for the initial two-hour reservation is $25
- Additional hours may be purchased for $10.
- Reservations can not exceed 6 hours.
  - Anything over 6 hours requires a new reservation.
The maximum occupancy of the small event rooms is 10 persons.

Reservations

The minimum age to reserve an event room is 18.
Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by parents or guardians.
Reservations must be made online.
Reservations must be made:
- Small event rooms: 24 hours in advanced
- Large event room: One week in advanced
- If you need to reserve a room after this period, please email us at info@cardboardcornerkc.com
In the event that a reservation must be canceled (e.g. unforeseen facility
or technical issues, closures due to inclement weather, global pandemics,
etc.), your deposit will be refunded to your credit/debit card.
Cardboard Corner Cafe, LLC reserves the right to refuse reservations. In
that event, your deposit will be refunded to your credit/debit card.

Deposit

To secure your reservation, you will be charged a non-refundable deposit.
- Small event rooms: $25
- Large event rooms: $150
This deposit will be applied to the final cost of the room, therefore acting as
payment for the initial, two-hour reservation.
Payment must be made with a credit or debit card.

Arrival and Check-in

Please visit Cardboard Corner’s front counter and check-in with a staff member.
Upon arrival, we will take a card on file in case of incidentals.
Small event rooms: You will receive a television remote, HDMI cable to connect devices to television, and a power strip.
- These items must be returned upon check-out, or a fee of $50 will be
  automatically charged to the card on file.
A Cardboard Corner staff member will accompany you to your reserved room to unlock the room and answer any questions you may have.
- Guests will not receive keys to event rooms.
Late arrivals:
- Guests are granted a thirty-minute grace period before forfeiting their reservation.
- Guests arriving late cannot add missed time to the end of their
  reservation.

Check-out

Before leaving, the guest who made the reservation must check-out with a Cardboard Corner staff member.
- The staff member will accompany the guest back to the game room to make a final assessment of the room’s condition, receive equipment, and lock the door.
Guests departing late have a ten-minute grace period.
If guests depart late (beyond the ten-minute grace period) and have not
requested an additional hour, they will be automatically charged:
- Small event rooms: $15 fee as well as an additional $15 per 30 minutes they are over.
- Large event room: $65 fee as well as an additional $65 per 30 minutes they are over.

Cleaning Fee

In the event of extra cleaning, your card on file will be charged an additional fee of
- Small event rooms: $40
- Large event room: $150
This includes cleaning beyond a basic wipe down of chairs and tables, and sweeping the floor
If you spill something, please let us know so we can take care of it quickly.
Damage to game rooms or items in game rooms will incur an automatic $250 charge to the card on file

Decorations

Decorations are permitted on the table and chairs.
Rice, confetti, and glitter are prohibited.
- USING GLITTER WILL IMMEDIATELY INCUR AN ADDITIONAL
  CLEANING FEE!
Do not put holes in the walls, take paint off the walls, or damage the walls.
- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THE MURALS!

Outside Food and Drink

Outside food such as birthday cakes is allowed as long as it is communicated with staff prior to the event.
Guests must provide their own utensils, plates, napkins, etc. if using their own food.
Due to limited space, we cannot store cakes and other treats in our facility.
Absolutely no outside alcohol allowed in facility. This violates our licensing and no exceptions will be made.

Game Room Technology

Technology use is included in room rate to enhance your gaming experience.
Volume: excessive volume can disrupt other gamers and damage equipment.
- Cardboard Corner institutes a three-warning system:
- If guests cannot maintain a respectable volume after two warnings, the third will result in forfeiture of reservation, automatic charge of all applicable fees.
Televisions: Cardboard Corner is not responsible for content viewed in rooms.
- We don’t feel it’s too much to ask to keep all content to an “R” rating (or “M”) or less.
- TAKE NOTICE: Viewing pornographic material will result in the forfeiture of reservation, automatic charge of all applicable fees, and the guests responsible will no longer be welcome on the premises.
