Doubles Tournaments, Shifting Loyalties
November 12 @ 11:00 am - 6:00 pm
$15
In a war your allies are not always the same and can shift even in the middle of a battle. The world of Westeros is filled with betrayal and your allies one moment are not the next moment, we only have to look to the Red Wedding, the Sack of King’s Landing, The Battle at Winterfell, The late Walder Frey. For this event your allies one battle might just be your enemies in the next battle.
Rounds and Pairings
This will be a doubles event, but you will be paired with a new person each round, the pairing will be done as so, in the first-round players will be randomly paired, for the second round those who won their games will be paired with someone lost their first game, and games will be randomly drawn, for the third round the pairings will be those with 2 loses will be paired with someone who has two wins, they will be paired with another pair made of a 0-2, 2-0 team. This will be a great opportunity to meet new players and learn from other players. We will be running 3 rounds, teams will alternate activations, they don’t have to alternate players on the team, help each other and have fun.
Army Requirements
Armies, each player will bring two 25-point lists (I suggest a 1 NCU list and 2 NCU list) of the same faction. When paired with your partner you will select which of your lists you will use for the next battle. Games will be from the Game Mode Document. If there is an odd number of players the TO will step in and play to make sure no one has a bye, if there is an odd number of teams the players on the odd team out will then face each other with 25-point lists in a match. We are using the rules and cards currently published on the War Council App by Nov. 10.
Prizes
Prizes will be in a Raffle once again, names will be added to the pool and then drawn when a name is drawn it is removed from the raffle. How to get your name into the raffle: Show up, Critical fail a panic check (roll of 2 on the 2d6 and a 3 on the d3), win a game, get tabled, table your opponent, destroy a unit with a unit with only 1 wound remaining, playing a 1v1 on your bye round, losing 3 games, best painted army will add 5 drawings to the pool (as determined by the community), best painted unit will add 2 drawings (determined by the community), best painted NCU will add 2 drawings (determined by the community), more conditions can be added by the TO an announced before the event.
Most Important Rule is to HAVE FUN!!
This event is open to all skill levels, even those new to the game, we are willing to help out new players to learn to play A Song of Ice and Fire. If someone is interested in learning the game the TO can provide some armies for the tournament, and demos for the game as well at a date before the event.
